Phil Mathewson is a local businessman, hailing from Hancock, NH. Phil began his venture into business in the nineteen-eighties, when he started Mathewson Blacktop. The amazing growth and transformation of the company is the direct result of his dedication to hard work, the customers and the employees.

Phil has led the company to become a multi-faceted civil construction and service enterprise, offering all aspects of site work, road construction, paving, septic installation and inspections, sewer and drain service, winter maintenance and construction materials. Phil likes hands-on approach and oversees company’s operations focusing on quality and customer satisfaction. His philosophy is that one of the most important values of the Mathewson Companies is to be a good member of the local community.

George joined our team in 2014. He is in charge of field operations and project estimating. Having worked in the site work field most of his professional career, George has an unparalleled knowledge of all aspects of civil construction and he is a skilled manager and leader.

Ziggy Mathewson

Ziggy Mathewson joined us in 2018 as our Construction and Development Project Manager for Mathewson Properties. He leads and represents our new and ongoing projects and is responsible for the management of all projects from the initial identification, estimation, and acquisition phases through the project closeout phase. Ziggy oversees and supervises all of our construction and development jobs – from single-family residential homes and condos to multi-unit, multi-phase, multi-year condominium communities – throughout New Hampshire’s Monadnock region and the surrounding communities.

With over 20 years in the construction industry, Ziggy is a self-starting, highly motivated, and goal-oriented Project Manager with extensive experience and unmatched knowledge. These qualities are only superseded by his reputation, attention to detail with emphasis placed on quality workmanship, and management of schedules, timetables, subcontractors, and suppliers/vendors. He’s very organized, maintaining a systematic approach to tasks in order to achieve accuracy and efficiency.
